Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at ericalaneakins@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Start by browsing our adoptable pets on our website or social media. Once you see someone you love, fill out our adoption application. We’ll review your information and contact you to set up a home check or a meet-and-greet. Our goal is to ensure a perfect match for both the animal and your family.

Our adoption fee covers:

  • Spay/neuter surgery
  • Age-appropriate vaccinations
  • Microchip with lifetime registration
  • Deworming and flea/tick prevention
  • Any necessary medical treatments prior to adoption

The fee helps cover a portion of the medical and care costs. It allows us to continue rescuing animals in need and providing them with the care they deserve. We are a non-profit and rely heavily on donations and adoption fees to operate.

Fostering means temporarily opening your home to a pet in need. You provide love, safety, and socialization while we cover food, supplies, and vet care. Fostering helps us save more lives and gives animals a chance to decompress before finding their forever home.

Foster durations vary from a few days to several weeks depending on the pet's needs and adoption interest. We’ll work with your availability and comfort level.

Yes! We provide everything you need: food, crates, bedding, toys, leashes, litter, and any medical care. You provide the home and love.

At Pink Paws Animal Rescue, we prioritize the long-term well-being and emotional health of every pet we place. One important behavioral concern we address is littermate syndrome — a condition that can occur when two sibling puppies are raised together in the same home.

Littermate syndrome may lead to intense bonding between the siblings that interferes with their ability to form healthy attachments with humans or other animals. It can result in anxiety, fearfulness, aggression, training difficulties, and developmental delays. While not all sibling pairs experience these issues, the risk is high enough that many experienced trainers and veterinarians advise against adopting littermates together.

Because of this, Pink Paws Animal Rescue does not adopt out siblings to the same family. We believe that by placing each pup in a separate, loving home, we are giving them the best chance to thrive independently and become well-rounded companions.

Thank you for understanding and helping us create the best future for every furry friend in our care. 💕🐾
